Gucci Osteria – The Luxury Restaurant You Were Waiting For
Modern Dining Tables brings you the luxury restaurantyou were awaiting: Gucci Osteria! Since Alessandro Michele arrived at Gucci‘s creative direction, the fashion firm has transformed into a lifestyle one. After his collection of furniture, it was the turn of the restoration. In 2018, he opened the Gucci Osteria at the Gucci Garden in Florence, recently awarded a Michelin Star with Chef Massimo Bottura.
Fashion label Gucci has opened a luxury restaurant at the top of its store in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, which serves up a selection of Italian cuisine. Gucci Osteria by Massimo Bottura occupies the rooftop of the brand’s store on Rodeo Drive, a two-mile-long street in Beverly Hills that is host to a parade of luxury fashion boutiques.
This alliance was born the friendship that joins Marco Bizzarri – executive director of Gucci – and Massimo Bottura since childhood and is a tribute to the love they share for two key elements of Italian culture: gastronomy and fashion. The 50-cover LA luxury restaurant is designed to be an “intimate and cozy” space that nods to the opulent aesthetic of the existing Florence venue. It has a private entrance at street level, where the modern restaurant‘s name is written across an illuminated slab of pale marble. Guests are greeted in a lobby upstairs, which is covered in tree-printed wallpaper from Gucci‘s homeware range. Star-shaped spotlights punctuate the black ceiling, while an ornately patterned red rug overlays the parquet wooden floor.
The luxury restaurant‘s interior design shares details with Gucci Osteria of Florence, such as the use of wallpaper from the Gucci Décor collection, antique mirrors, red marble dining tables or wicker chairs. Among the unique elements that distinguish the new Los Angeles contemporary restaurant, the herringbone parquet floors and cherry red velvet sidewalks stand out. The terrace, meanwhile, has an Italian marble tiled floor and an old wooden pulpit converted into the outer luxury bar of the luxury restaurant.
Since his appointment in 2015 as creative director, Alessandro Michele has always expressed his fascination for Hollywood and, season after season, has inspired him. Proof of this are, for example, the capsule collections Chateau Marmont and Paramount Studios; the relaunch of the Gucci Guilty fragrance at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery; the advertising campaign of the spring/summer 2019 collection, which pays homage to the golden age of Hollywood and now this luxury restaurant located in Beverly Hills.
In addition, Gucci has continuously supported local art and film groups through the annual LACMA Art and Cinema Gala, co-chaired by Alessandro Michele. This new Gucci project will connect the worlds of culture, gastronomy, and fashion in order to create an unforgettable fine experience typical of Los Angeles.
