Luxury Restaurant Inspired by Nature: Welcome To Mays
This luxury restaurant looks like the movie set of a sci-fi version of Jack and the Beanstalk. The local studio Daosheng Design takes the shape of the root, branch and leaf of the natural plant as a design element in this contemporary interior design restaurant. This modern restaurant offers its guests Euro-style vegetarian dishes in a sleek modern setting in Guangzhou.
Focusing on the rapid growth of branches and leaves, the front area is adorned by just a wisp of those roots, captured by meandering stainless steel across the ceiling. Furnishings are simple and functional, comprising of wooden dining tables paired with an elongated bench lining the wall, and comfortable modern dining chairs in addition to metal-clad booths with round wooden dining tables. The interior designers take the plant organism as the theme concept, through a certain spatial approach, let the environment and delicacies set off each other, create a dining space as “walking in the woods”.
As the graceful line moves, it enters the reticulated stainless steel independent dining room. Stainless steel criss-cross, like the infinite growth of branches from their own, revealing a vigorous vitality. In order to respond to the theme of the luxury restaurant and endow the space with natural power, the designers don’t simply use plants as space decoration but use a more abstract and interesting spatial expression. This luxury restaurant creates the shape of the roots, branches and leaves of natural plants by extracting the morphological veins of the roots, branches and leaves as elements, so as to construct smooth natural lines and eventually form new design symbols, thus reflecting a larger imaginary world.
This contemporary restaurant design and space planning break the inherent design thinking. The interior design project attempts to make visible modern materials and natural design language complement each other, forming a space with both a creative and modern atmosphere and a comfortable sense of nature. Guests, in this luxury restaurant, can enjoy the pleasure of fine cuisine, experiencing endless fun in a different western casual dining environment.
This luxury restaurant project started in December 2017 in China and finished in April 2019.
