Biré Bitori – Luxury Restaurant Project In Copper Canyon
Biré Bitori, a luxury restaurant and cocktail bar in Copper Canyon in Chihuahua, is a restaurant project by studio Tall Arquitectos. The concept calls for a cantilevered structure embedded in the rock face, granting diners panoramic views of the canyon and the famous Basaseachic Falls below. Here you can have a drink from 6,000 feet in the air!
‘Bire Bitori’, meaning ‘a plate’ in the indigenous Mexican language Tarahumara, is a luxury restaurantand concept developed by chef Maria Andrea Payne. The design for this exclusive restaurantfeatures two levels, with the dining area and bar on the first, and a lounge on the second. The interior is lined with windows and a vast glass floor, with tables arranged on the perimeter to offer incredible views throughout.
Guests descend into the restaurant through a minimalist entrance, marked by a small water feature. The futuristic space features an open-plan and natural materials that echo the surrounding landscape. But Mexico’s latest restaurant design is not for the faint of heart – clients are also invited to rappel down to the canyon floor. They offer you not only a fine dining experience but an adventure too.
From the entrance of this luxury restaurant, the only visible elements are the horizontality of the landscape, with a vast sky above and a reflective pool that marks the entry. In the dining area, a surface ring of wood dining tables frames a central open-air patio complete with a glass floor, involving guests with the full fine dining experience of local flavors, materials, and landscape.
The primarily concrete structure embeds itself into the cliffside supported by a matrix of steel beams hidden below. By simplifying the exclusive designas much as possible, using primarily only one building material that relates to the local rock, the dining experiencelends to the area’s rich history.
