With one of the biggets fairs of design and furniture almost starting, Salone Del Mobile 2019 approaches a remarkable concept from 6th to 14th of April. Leonardo Da Vinci will be celebrated and honored on the 500th anniversary of his death. The 58th edition of the design exhibition is preparing outstanding activities that will blow your mind and make you know a little more about the genius.
Leonardo Da Vinci was born in the city of Vinci, near Florence. Spend a big part of his life working with Verrocchio, a famous painter, in his atelier. Later he moved to Milano to work with Ludovico Sforza for a few years. He was so famous and remarkable that the city started to call him its “adopted son”.
With a master talent in the most diverse areas like painting, architecture, math, engineering, anatomy or cience, Leonardo is considered by many as a genius and one of the most amazing minds of all time, maybe the most amazing. Author of iconic and worshiped masterpieces like The Mona Lisa, The Last Supper or The Vitruvian Man, his designs and projects helped kings, war generals and will forever be reminded for being bold, masterly conceived and ahead of his time.
In the 500th anniversary of his death, Salone Del Mobile 2019 brought together master projects that are traditional in Milano but will be adapted to his work and vision.
“AQUA, Leonardo’s Vision” will take place in Conca dell’Incoronata, Via San Marco from 5th to 14th of April. The visit will be possible to see from 10am to 10pm and will have two parts. The Conca will be covered with an architectural insert with a form of a great expanse of water, on which in the end will have a big LED screen that will represent a window to the future city of Milano.
Underneath this exhibition, inside the canal itself, a Wunderkammer (cabinet of curiosities) will be created to give the visitors a submersive experience where they can appreciate the beauty of water with cutting-edge technology.
The second exhibition by the Furniture Fair intends to explore and pay home to Italian design and craftmanship. One of the countries in the world with the most ancient and solid roots, a country of art and culture. It will take place in Pavilion 24, Fiera Milano, Rho from 9:30am to 6:30pm from 9th to 14th of April.
iSaloni is not only an art fair, is a place where design, culture and ideas are honored and shown to the world. This years’ edition will be special, with a special theme and a special organization.
