British designer Tara Bernerd is the founder of the interior design firmTara Bernerd & Partners. Based in London, the practice works on a global platform and prides itself on its intelligent approach to interior space planning and design. Sa Sorre, Spain
Knowing the island well, Tara Bernerd was thoroughly versed in the vernacular building style and thus able to reference it elegantly. The use of local materials, including sandstone blocks from the nearby quarry in Santanyi, was key in creating a building that would settle into the environment. The outside and inside spaces were designed so that there is virtually no physical division between them, with substantial windows on this modern dining room looking out onto the landscaped gardens, effectively bringing the outside in.
HighCliff, Hong Kong
Occupying the entire floor-plate, this super-deluxe, 3,500 square foot apartment has remarkable 360-degree views of the city. The open plan living space is broken into distinct zones, each with its own special mood. Textures throughout are earthy, warm, and luxurious with stained oak, bronze, and a combination of sandstone and timber flooring. Colors are natural and muted, with sudden splashes to create a vibrant atmosphere that attracts the senses. Tara Bernerd did a fantastic job with this contemporary dining room where the luxury chandeliers create a statement.
The Thames, London
Whilst embracing open-plan living, the apartment is carefully zoned to include cozy, more seductive areas that create a feeling of intimacy. Drawing upon its urban location, the design scheme completely embodies Tara Bernerd’s design philosophy with its mix of concrete, woods, and petrol blue leathers. However, raw materials are carefully balanced by soft, rich velvets and luxurious finishes, as well as an interesting and eclectic mix of artwork and decorative objects.
This 2,000 square foot private apartment in a landmark building on Central Park West enjoys breathtaking views over New York. Tara Bernerd & Partners provided full interior layouts for the property, delineating definable living zones to provide the most functional and comfortable suite of rooms within the building’s existing framework.
Tara Bernerd also provided a complete interior deigns package, including an array of luxury finishes, such as book-matched walnut and art glass set within a screen that partially divides the stylish dining room and the lobby.
Four Seasons Hotel, Fort Lauderdale, Florida
The Four Seasons in Fort Lauderdale is Tara Bernerd & Partners’ first project for Four Seasons and Fort Partners. Working closely with Kobi Karp Architecture, Tara Bernerd & Partners has been appointed to complete the full interior architecture and design for the lobbies, bars, all-day dining, spa, 148 hotel rooms, as well as 50 condo-hotel rooms and private residences.
Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences, Fort Lauderdale is the first hotel of this kind, in an area set to become Miami’s Riviera. The scheme for such an iconic building, therefore, reflects a timeless quality; we have harked back to an earlier age when Fort Lauderdale was in its heyday, an era of Chris-Craft Yachts and Capri Pants and we have sought to imbue this feeling of understated elegance into the design.

Chiswick Gate, London
Combining intelligent space planning with contemporary design, the resulting interiors have a warm and modern feel thanks to the skillful use of layering, texture, and color.
This project really is all about cutting-edge yet refined London living in that it mixes loft-like apartments with elegant family homes. And in many ways, this is a key project for Berkeley because it is taking what they do to a whole new level of design-led luxury.
