The Oscar Award-winning actress listed the property last August for $25 million. It’s situated on a full floor in the River Lofts tower, located at 92 Laight Street. Now, Meryl Streep is selling her luxury penthouse in New York City for $18.25 million — a 26% discount from what she was asking a year ago.
This modern home is almost 4000 square feet and was designed by Tsao & McKown Architects. This luxury penthouse is surrounded on three sides by a 10-foot wide terrace.
As to be expected, it features everything from an Italian-designed kitchen with state-of-the-art appliances to airy open living and dining spaces, complete with hardwood flooring as well as floor-to-ceiling windows offering breathtaking views of the city. Plus, there are four bedrooms—three of which are designed for guests—five bathrooms, a media room, and a spacious study with sleek shelving.
The living room is complete with a wood-burning fireplace and floor-to-ceiling windows. There are even a direct elevator entry and a skylit entrance gallery. The dining room is open to the living room – a wall-mounted television is one highlight of the room, which can be separated from the main living area by pocket doors.

The high-end Italian kitchen is outfitted with state of the art appliances and a butcher-block island. It also features a Sub-Zero refrigerator, two ovens, a six-burner Miele cooktop, and a Bosch dishwasher.
But the luxury living gets serious in the master suite, which includes two bathrooms and two walk-in closets — maybe one can be used to store your Oscars. While it’s hard to imagine ever wanting to leave the opulent oasis, the River Lofts building also boasts a fitness center, a bicycle room, garden, on-site garage and a 24-hour doorman. It’s also mere steps away from restaurants, shops and the Hudson River Park.
As Sotheby’s listing describes, “The home is a delight year-round, from summer days gardening on the terrace to winter evenings by the fire, watching the snow fall.”
