For this dining room, Kelly Wearstler channeled her signature California cool elegantly juxtaposed with East Coast sophistication and luxury. Lush neutrals and rich metallic detailing create an effortless yet spirited vibe.
In contrast to the classic Pacific Northwest architecture of a 1946 cottage-style house clad in cedar siding the interior proves to be a different world—part Parisian jewel box, scholar’s retreat and natural wonder.

More mid-century modern touches can be found in the dining nook, with its classic Warren Platner chairs. Of the warm, honey-colored wood paneling found throughout, Kelly muses, “You feel like you are on a boat or the set of a James Bond film.”
Stripped down to the studs, Wearstler worked to create an additional 3,000 sq. ft. of living space, pushed up the ceiling heights, broadened windows and doors to allow more light and completely carved out a new master suite upstairs.

The far wall of the dining room is paneled in antiqued mirror; a brass sculpture by John Raible sits on a Howard Werner table, which is surrounded by a suite of Paul Evans chairs found at Todd Merrill Antiques and Craig Van Den Brulle.
Kelly Wearstler’s ultra-glam beach house featured in Metropolitan Home magazine. That funky French chandelier is made with “splayed copper branches that suggest seaweed.”
A stunning chandelier, gleaming table, and sleek upholstered chairs combine in this elegant design. “This oval dining room is such a sexy shape,” exclaims Kelly Wearstler, celebrity designer and author of the book, Hue. “It’s in the heart of the house and has windows on both sides.
